There are times when a company is at its lows and employees somehow feel it. The people working for the company seem to be dragged by getting less motivation maybe because of the problems being brought by not hitting sales targets and poor customer satisfaction grades. During these times, incomes are not that high and so it is a company’s nature to advocate on savings. It is therefore not practical to hire outsourced motivational speakers to be giving the speech to the employees.
But then, there is the need to conduct such gatherings to boost the employees’ confidence and motivation to still strive for the best and not be drowned in the current lows. So if you were tasked to conduct such a seminar without being given a budget to hire a professional speaker, what will you do? First thing to determine would be what the employees need and require in terms of how they can boost their drive in hitting targets and goals. This is truly where you should start because it is a process of determining the probable causes of demotivation.
By determining what the employees’ problems are, you have the knowledge of what aspects to target in your seminar. Maybe, in addition to asking what the problem is, it would also be better to ask if they have a proposed solution in mind. This will become your topics base that you can give to the speaker to work on. The next step is looking for the speaker or keynote speakers without looking outside the company walls. Since you already have a list of possible topics, you’ll be able to tap supervisors or managers from other departments who were able to survive the lows in the past and has kept themselves motivated despite the situation.
You can select and create a group of these team heads and categorize each one according to their specialization in terms of handling different types of situations. You’ll never know that you might have that person just inside your own company who can entice and give light to other employees as well.
Another person who is very qualified for you to get as a keynote speaker is the company’s own chief executive officer or CEO. As the person who is given the authority to decide the company’s direction, he or she is the one who knows the ins and outs. He or she knows the business well which is why the knowledge he has will be very valuable for the employees to hear and will inspire them to think more creatively and pull them up.
